Rose by Finward-Erendash Rose by Finward-Erendash
I thought I had a deal about not uploading other's designs into my gallery, until I found I had already broken that pact a while ago, with the photo of the Calandria. So, well, all the cool guys are folding the Phu Tran rose (and all my local cool guys are folding Kawasaki's new rose D:...), and here is my rendition. Stem and leaves from Lionel Albertino, and calix from my blog.

This is beautiful. You are really good with paper. I love all the textures and details in this origami, especially those textures in the leaves. I think this would be a cute thing to give to someone on Valentine's, if you made a bouquet of them. It's definitely very unique and different from what I've seen. Good job. :)

Thanks for the comment. I've actually only gifted one (1) bouquet of flowers as a Valentine's present ever, with great results indeed. I still fold a lot of flowers in Valentine's though, but never as gifts XD

I'm a big fan of origami so when I saw this I squealed so bad.
I love how you got the details on the leaves by showing the indentations of the veins, and also how you constructed the petals of the rose too. Its instantly recognizable, so great job! ;)

Radical. How many papers did it take?

2 letter sheets. 1 for the rose. 1/2 for the stem. 1/4 for the calyx, 4/16 for the leaves and the rest for the branch.

Been folding this package for at least six years. I've optimized it a little bit XD
